Since CTP technology appeared in the early 1990s and gradually matured, its application has achieved rapid development. In a broad sense, CTP technology mainly includes offline direct plate making (ctplate), on-line direct plate making (ctpress), computer proofing (ctproof) and digital printing (ctpaper/print). But in a narrow sense, CTP technology generally refers to the first technology, which is the abbreviation of English computerto plate. The core of CTP technology is CTP plate making process, which mainly includes prepress process (including digital proofing), output equipment, CTP plates and supporting chemicals. At present, CTP technology has many implementation forms, mainly including thermal CTP, visible CTP (532nm), violet laser CTP, CTCP, inkjet CTP, etc. Recent data show that CTP penetration has reached more than 70% in European and American countries with developed printing industry. It is expected that China will also have great development in the next few years, but the plate price is still the bottleneck that restricts domestic users from choosing CTP. Although thermal CTP and violet laser CTP have become the mainstream of CTP technology development, the plate price is still high. With the emergence of CTCP technology, especially at the 2003 China International all printing exhibition, CTCP, as a new computer direct plate making technology, has been officially unveiled in China. The rapid development of CTCP technology has attracted the attention of people in the plate making and printing industry. It has become another highly competitive direct plate making technology after thermal CTP and violet laser CTP. In the 2005 China CTP sales list, CTCP jumped from the 13th place in 2004 to the 5th place, becoming the main force in China's CTP market

For the required light, it will directly refract and pass through the optical lens system to reach the printing plate surface, exposing the photosensitive material of the printing plate; For unwanted light, the micro mirror deflects, so that this part of the light cannot pass through the lens system, let alone reach the plate surface. The exposure point formed by each micro mirror on the plate is a basic pixel, and multiple basic pixels together form a printing point. Due to the limited number of micro mirrors on the DMD, the first exposure can only complete the exposure and imaging of some images, and the full exposure and imaging of the images can be completed only after several consecutive exposures. The format of each exposure is about 0.8cmx6.3cm. Start the computer to enter the operating system, which is closely related to the selected resolution. The exposure head positioning system of CTCP system is extremely accurate, which can ensure the seamless splicing of images after several consecutive exposures, with an accuracy of less than 2 microns, and the exposure speed of 10 exposures per second. 2. Characteristics of CTCP technology CTCP is a new CTP technology that uses ordinary PS plates to make plates directly by computer. The biggest feature of this technology is that the advanced digital CTCP is the English abbreviation of computerto conventional plate. It is the integration of production factors and the high-quality elements of traditional plate making, so that CTCP not only has the high quality and efficiency of computer plate making on the traditional PS plate, but also retains the simple operation system, driving system, circulating cooling system Damping system and other closed convenience, stable performance and use characteristics

The edge of this square pixel is clear and sharp, which can better represent the details of the image, so that it can maintain the high quality of the image. In general, the circular pixels imaged by laser technology will be connected with each other. Therefore, square pixels can achieve the imaging effect of 2400dpi circular pixels officially established by Jinan Experimental Machine Industry Association on September 27th, 2014 at a resolution of 1500dpi, reducing the amount of data, improving rip speed and improving production efficiency. (8) The performance requirements of printing plates are high. CTCP technology is indeed direct imaging on ordinary PS plates, but the plates used still need to have high sensitivity and resolution. (9) It is not as fine as CTP version. The minimum frequency modulation of CTP is 10 microns, while CTCP is 16.9 microns. It is mainly compensated by accurate positioning - about ± 2 microns. (10) Plate making equipment is more expensive. Although the price of CTCP plate is low and the performance is stable, the CTCP system plate making equipment is not very cheap and is still much more expensive than ordinary plate making equipment. The price of its high-end system is equivalent to that of the medium and low-end CTP system. This also makes manufacturers who want to use it hesitate. (11) The speed of plate making is slow. The speed of CTCP plate making (using domestic printing plates) has always remained at a low level, which is not suitable for fast-paced newspaper printing. At the same time, some people believe that CTCP technology is only a transitional technology, not an emerging technology, and will be eliminated sooner or later. (12) The market is immature. CTCP technology has not entered the market for a long time, and the conditions in all aspects are not very mature. The overall evaluation of the market is that its performance is not as stable and reliable as CTP. Printing plates of various specifications and sizes can also process multiple plates at the same time, and can be exposed multiple times on the same plate. (4) Improved printing quality CTCP does not require film printing, and images and dots are not affected by the quality attenuation in the traditional prepress process. The printing plate has clear points, high accuracy and good quality. It can be used not only for book printing, newspaper printing, but also for commercial printing and packaging printing. The printing quality is high. In traditional plate making, due to the inevitable point increase and point loss in film printing, the exposure range of PS plate is only 2% - 97%, and the controllable step range of printing is only about 5% - 90%. By using CTCP technology, point increase and loss are eliminated, so that PS version can reproduce 1% ~ 100% points excellently, and the controllable range of printing is also expanded to 1% ~ 99%. In other words, as long as the supporting conditions reach a certain level, it can completely replace CTP to complete the task of plate making

from the above characteristics of CTCP, CTCP and CTP have their own advantages and disadvantages, but from the current actual situation in China, it seems that CTCP has more advantages than CTP, so in which aspects can it be applied? 1. Application field CTCP has a wide range of applications, such as newspaper printing, book printing, simple embossing and complex commercial printing. Especially for small and medium-sized printing enterprises, it is worth considering. Moreover, the application of CTCP system in the world is quite good. Existing problems although the conditions of CTCP technology are generally good in all aspects, many prepress companies and printing manufacturers dare not rush because of some shortcomings of CTCP system itself and the problem of market maturity. On the other hand, this technology may not be perfect, and there are still some problems. For example, the exposure of CTCP technology currently introduced adopts mechanical positioning, rather than optical positioning like thermal devices and violet laser devices. CTCP technology adopts the form of flat plate making rather than faster drum design, which limits its promotion and application to a certain extent
